Orange Runner 2?

Posted by Maxwelldoggums - July 28th, 2008

Thinking about orange runner 2... The sequel to the "well received" (citation needed) game will probably be more epic than your minds can handle... I'm thinking up plot ideas as we speak, or ... you read... The protagonist will have super powers given to him somehow, He is being chased by the government because they want to make him a weapon or something... and he'll run away... very very fast. I am thinking of adding more defined levels and enemies. Along with a multiplayer and race mode independent of the main game. The protagonist might as well have cool 'lectricity shooting powers too, seeing as he ate batteries in the first... I don't know. Post suggestions because I'm clueless...

yes make a second, the first was awesome

electric powers in the animation would be sweet, its the little things that matter, but added as gameplay, that could be iffy, only if you could pull it off well then i'd say do it.

If you are gonna plan out levels instead of have them random, then make them go to the music.

Different colors for the levels would be awesome, as well as different backgrounds.

Also if you are gonna do the multiplayer, make sure you add different colored runners so you can tell people apart.

And it would be great to add more to the obstacles, like jump over this, slide under that. Different difficulties, and also maybe re-vamp the boss races by getting rid of the obstacles and having the terrain change into hills and jumps and such, and make the person rely on the spacebar tapping?

and if you'd like any plot suggestions at all, just pm me.

Thanks, I'll work on that. The original actually had some "slide under stuff" code, but it didn't work... at all... so I removed it, but that's a good idea!

Make him run through a city and if you run through a car or something it TOTALLY BLOWS UP and you should run through people and they just get friggin OWNED!!! make blood splat on the screen and stay there too! HAHA! i'm sick..... :)

yeah.... yeah you are... The city thing is a good idea! I'll try and include that

will you do the car thing? i think more action the merrier

sure... that sounds fun

I've got an idea for plot. Hmm... He was a convict, so the Government tries to electrocute him with "The Chair" that fries out his brains, but somehow gives him the ability to absorb electricity, and the high amount of energy stimulates his adrenaline, giving him the ability to run insanely fast. At first they just try to recapture him, but then he just blows 'em up with an electric blast. Then the government finds out and tries to use him for a weapon. Now their chasing him. At first their just using guys running really fast, then squad cars, tanks, and eventually helicopters. While he's running he's fightin' with them, and the vehicles, when shot, would spin out of control, or blow up, depending on where he hits. As he kills the guys he would find cash, and then take that cash. The tougher the enemy the more money he gets. Then he could spend that cash for upgrades, like farther shooting, stronger shots, faster running, armor, etc. (The shops would probably be in cities) And running through cities would be pretty awesome. (Is it possible if people shout at him or something?) As the Government starts to put more effort into chasing this guy down, they send bosses at him. Like robots that are meant to run, or olympic runners. Then in the end, they fry up his brother, and the two have this show down. His brother wins, and they capture him. Then they use him as a weapon over in Iraq, and equip him with bad ass stuff. Killing terrorists, nuking villages, bombing Osama, the works. Most preferably you use some type of subtitles at the bottom to understand what they're saying, cause dialogue is a very important part of the story.

If this is too much for you to do, then don't do it. This is just a suggestion. tell me if you like the idea though.
